چکیده

Two studies were conducted to assess the effect of protein source and microencapsulated sodium butyrate (MSB) inclusion in pelleted starter mixtures on growth performance, gain feed (G:F) ratio, nutrient digestibility, selected blood metabolites calves. In study 1, 28 Holstein bull calves (8.7 ± 0.8 d age 43.0 4.4 kg; mean SD) allocated 1 4 treatments a 2 × factorial arrangement fed mixture containing canola meal (CM, 35% as fed) or soybean (SM, 24% main protein, with without supplemental MSB (0.3% fed). Starter formulated be similar for crude Lys, Met, ad libitum. Calves weaned after 42 milk replacer feeding (51.7 age) observed another 21 d. Furthermore, measured 21, 42, 63 study, digestibility was weaning. 2, 60 heifer (9.1 43.2 4.2 kg) assigned same 1. The 49 (59.1 an additional 14 Milk intake fecal score recorded daily, whereas body weight (BW) weekly. CM had tended have lesser preweaning intake, weaning average daily (ADG), overall G:F postweaning total-tract dry matter opposed those SM. However, these differences did not affect ADG, final BW. Supplementation only increase intake. that greater cumulative weaning, but no BW, ratio. Inclusion decrease conclusion, use SM resulted performance calves; however, reduced ratio at least some points rearing. minor effects

Energy concentration and amino acid digestibility in high-protein canola meal, conventional canola meal, and soybean meal fed to growing pigs.

Two experiments were conducted to determine DE and ME and the standardized ileal digestibility (SID) of CP and AA in 2 sources of high-protein canola meal (CM-HP1 and CM-HP2), conventional canola meal (CM-CV), and soybean meal (SBM) fed to growing pigs. In Exp. 1, 40 barrows (51.5 ± 4.0 kg initial BW) were housed in metabolism cages and randomly allotted to 1 of 5 diets with 8 replicate pigs pe...

In situ Evaluation of Ruminal Degradability and Intestinal Digestibility of Sunflower Meal Compared to Soybean Meal

The aim of this study was to compare the nutritional value of sunflower meal (SFM) and soybean meal (SBM) protein by determining both its ruminal degradability and intestinal digestibility. Three non lactating Jersey cows fitted with a rumen and T-type duodenal cannulas were used to estimate rumen degradability and intestinal digestibility of SFM and SBM dry matter (DM) and crude protein (CP). ...

Effect of Different Levels of Soybean Oil, Soybean and Canola Meal on Production Performance, Rumination Activity and Nutrient Digestibility in Holstein Dairy Cows

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different levels of oil and soybean meal and Canola meal separately and mixed on productive performance, rumination and digestibility of nutrients in Holstein dairy cows. This research was carried out in a completely randomized design on 35 Holstein dairy cattle with 7 treatments and 5 cows with an average weight of 650 ± 40 kg. Treatments...

The Effect of Soybean Meal Heating Time on the in vitro Digestibility and Ruminal Fermentation Profile

The aim of this study was to determine the most optimal heating time in protection of protein rich feedstuff on digestibility and in vitro ruminal fermentation profile. Proteinous feedstuffs used in this study is soybean meal (Glycine max). This study is designed using one way ANOVA, with five treatments of heating time (T0 (control)= unheated, T1= 10 min, T2= 20 min, T3= 30 m...

Canola Meal as a Protein Source for Lactating Dairy Cows

Canola is an offspring of rapeseed (Brassica napus and Brassica campestris/rapa), which was bred through standard plant breeding techniques to have low levels of erucic acid and glucosinolates. Canola seed is rich in oil, and after oil extraction, the remaining “canola meal” (CM), is a rich protein source used as feedstock to different animal species, mainly dairy cows in North America and in E...
